The Merrick Public Library is offering an American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Class instructed by Matt Simpson on Wednesday, May 11 and Thursday, May 12, 2011. The class will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and attendance at both sessions is mandatory. The class is being offered to members of the community who want a course completion card. Students will learn to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives as well as adult, child and infant CPR. Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) will also be taught. This class is open to members of the community age 11 and over. There is a $50 fee for this program, due to high demand for this program a $30 deposit is required at sign-up. The deposit is non-refundable. Please call 508 867 6339 for further information.
