Summer Reading Program

SUMMER READING FUN: Merrick Public Library Summer Reading 2017
The summer reading theme this year is Build a Better World.

BUILD WITH US! Thanks to a grant from the Brookfield Community Club, we have Magnatiles, Magformers, and wooden blocks to play with! Starting June 23, drop in Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4.

READ WITH US! Sign up for summer reading! We are again doing a joint program with the Brookfield Elementary School. The school and library will hand out the same reading chart. Read as much as you can! When your chart is full, bring it to the library: we will stamp it and give you a prize. Brookfield Elementary School students can use the same chart twice—after you get it stamped at the Merrick Public Library, turn it in at school for another prize. Summer reading starts when school gets out (June 22) and ends when school starts up again (August 29). Open to all ages.

BUILD WITH US! Thanks to a grant from the Brookfield Community Club, we have Magnatiles, Magformers, and wooden blocks to play with! Starting June 23, drop in Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4.
BUILD A BOOK! A three-day bookmaking camp with Miss Carrie, July 18, 19 and 20 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Come for one day, two days, or all three!
EAT PIZZA! Pizza night for students 7th grade to 12th grade. Check out a book and get a piece of pizza. Thursday, July 20 and Thursday, August 17, 6 to 7 p.m.
SUMMER READING RAFFLE! Get a free raffle ticket each time you check out five or more items (one ticket per day). Prizes will be raffled at the end of the summer.
