AMERICAN RED CRSS BABYSITTING TRAINING:

Wednesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 5, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Students aged 11 and up are invited to become certified babysitters.  Instructor Linda Freeman will teach safety and caring for young ones.  Students must attend both classed to be certified.  The cost is $25 per student and the Friends of the Library will pay the other half of the fee, $25 for each student enrolled.  Sign up soon!  This class fills up fast!

American Red Cross Babysitting program re-scheduled

Due to the weather forecast of a pending storm the babysitting class scheduled for Wednesday, February 5 and Thursday, February 6 is rescheduled to Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Checks for $25. may be made out to Linda Freeman.  This program and the pizza dinner! is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

American Red Cross Baby Sitting Training sponsored by the Friends of the Library

Instructor Linda Freeman (right) welcomed Officers Cameron and Kelley--during pizza time to meet all the students and discuss 911 calls . This will be an annual instructing course for students age 11-15 in Brookfield (and surrounding towns). Students certified may (with parents permission) have their names, address and phone, in a (stored) directory at the library for parents to peruse and call Baby Sitters! The Friends of the Library sponsored half ($20.00) of the $40.00 registration fee for this course for each student. 13 students have successfully completed the AMC Baby-Sitter Training. Only Brookfield walk-in parents will have access to the Directory at the Merrick Public Library.

American Red Cross Instructor, Linda Freeman (formerly of Brookfield!) encourages a moment of humor with the student participants of the mandatory 6 hour course for certification. Students attended two sessions on Wed. Feb. 4 from 4-7 and Thurs. Feb. 5, 4-7 to complete the certification process.

American Red Cross Baby-Sitter training

Wednesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 5 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Friends of the Library are sponsoring students ages 11 to 15, they will pay half of the $40.00 registration fee. Students must attend both sessions, the full six hours to be certified. Students will receive a handbook, an in-depth pocket size First Aid Guide, a CD with extensive extra material. Upon completion the students will receive their official ARC certification card.
