Tuesday, May 6 the Brookfield Police Department and Friends of the Library funded a Bike Helmet giveaway. This program was funded in part by a Jeppson grant--Greater Worcester Community Foundation. 50 helmets went to pre-schoolers through teens. It is a Massachusetts General Law for everyone under the age of 16 to wear protective head gear. This grant also funded a Police Bike for community patrolling.
