February School Vacation events:

Tuesday, February 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Snow Date: Thursday, February 24, 5-7 Sangita Desai, a professional Henna artist, will introduce the history of the art of Henna in Indian culture and will apply a long-lasting henna tatoo to each participant. This program is for ages 4 to adult, both genders. Participation is limited, please sign up at the library. Funded by the Brookfield Cultural Council and the Friends of the Library. Wednesday, February 23, Haiku Poetry and Card making: This workshop runs for two hours. Ages 7 and up. In the first hour people of all ages learn about the haiku form and write their own haiku. In the second hour they illustrate their poem in a folding card. Everyone will learn how to use simile and metaphor as inspiration for poetry, and principles of design such as scale, symbolism compared to literal imagery, and other ways to enhance visual communication. This free program is funded with a grant from the Brookfield Cultural Council.
