Summer Reading Programs at the Library!

Summer Reading Events 2015 at the Merrick Public Library in Brookfield

The 2015 summer reading program theme is “Every Hero Has a Story.” Starting Tuesday, July 7, sign up at the front desk to receive a book log. Earn raffle tickets for the books you read, and enter for a chance to win the prizes on display in the library.  Bonus raffle tickets will be awarded to program attendees.
Harmonious Happenings
Wednesdays, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, August 5, and August 12, from 11:15 to noon. Music time with Ms. Renee Coro. No age limits; snack served at end.

Cartooning Fun!
Thursdays, July 16, July 23, and July 30, from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Learn how to draw superheroes! The library will provide paper, pencils, and pens. Taught by Brookfield resident Ian Nugent, owner of local art studio Infinite Art and Design, he is experienced with everything from portrait work to theater props and has 13 years of teaching experience, with 4 years as a freelance art teacher.

Hero Camp
Tuesday, August 4, Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6, from 4-5 p.m.
Create your own hero puppet and write your own storybook, then present your story to the group.

 Summer Reading Finale, Thursday, August 13, from 4-5 p.m.
Make a superhero mask then celebrate with Hoodsie cups/popsicles. Last day to turn in summer reading raffle tickets!
