Banister Book Group for October 2011

Banister Book Group

October 26, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend any of our discussions! Members will pick a Mary Jane Holmes book, to share life in 1850's Brookfield's Rice Corner Road. "Often Rice Corner people found themselves portrayed in novels by Mrs. Holmes and didn't like it, but, of course, their real names were not used. Old timers used to say that one of the maddest was an oldish man at the Brookfield town farm, who was recognized as the Sal Furbush in "English Orphans" Chapter VI." Spencer New Leader, April 10, 1986.
