A Design Public Hearing will be held by MassDOT - Highway Division to discuss the proposed vertical clearance improvements to the Route 148 (Fiskdale Road) Bridge over CSX Rail Road in Brookfield MA.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed construction at the Route 148/Fiskdale Road over CSX Rail Road as part of the CSX Bridge Bundle #3 Project.

PROPOSAL: This project proposes to raise the existing Route 148/Fiskdale Road bridge deck over CSX Rail Road. The bridge deck raising will vary between 20 inches at the south approach to 9 inches on the northern approach. The roadway and bridge alignment will remain the same. Modifications to the vertical geometry of Route 148/Fiskdale Road will be required as a result of raising the bridge deck. The bridge may need to be closed to traffic for a short duration during construction.
